New header...again, ahaha. The Jigglypuff one wasn't doing it for me, the block of pink was too much against the gray background. Much happier with this one.
Spent the day downtown with Mum yesterday, which was kind of exciting considering I've never really been a tourist in our own downtown core. Needless to say, some kind of awesome and kind of ridiculous things happened:
- Saw a giant gathering outside the Old City Hall in support of the struggle for democracy in Iran...it's good to see these things in action, rather than just in the newspaper or online.
- Found the Jessica Biffi dress, proceeded to try it on and realized it looked horrendous on me, ahaha. It's tall people clothing and the material is heavier than I expected (it's polyester jersey and spandex when I expected silk jersey), so it reached my calves when it's supposed to reach the thighs and made me look even shorter...which is a feat. Still, it was cool to see it though I was disappointed to find out it wasn't manufactured in Canada. Last time I checked, this was a show about finding homegrown talent, not outsourcing designs to cheap labour overseas.
- Saw the most gorgeous purple corset dress in my size...for six hundred dollars. OH WELL
- Pushed my way into the crowd for the Much Music Video Awards. Saw the Jonas Brothers live and then realized that my personal space was being extremely violated, so we left. It was neat and one day when I totes liek said brothers I'll kick myself for not staying longer but what can you do.
- Listened to a guy talk about how to see people's auras. He talked about firing energy beams from your eye radars and bouncing them off people's electromagnetic fields because that's totes how auroras work, and that it's easier to do that these days because the Age of Aquarius (which is the sign of the power-bearer, not the water-carrier, gaiz) is coming and jaguars will fall from the sky. ENERGY LEGS!
- Most ridiculous award. When we got back to the hotel we decided to go for a swim in the outdoor pool...immediately upon arrival I noticed that the deck was packed with tall, skinny smoking/drinking women and the occasional boyfriend with music blasting liek woah and most of them dancing in not-school-appropriate ways. We asked the hotel staff what was going on and they said there was a pool party every Sunday. Of course, later on we found out that this wasn't true -- there was a strippers' convention in the hotel that weekend.
I GUESS I CAN CROSS 'GO SWIMMING WITH STRIPPERS' OFF OF MY TO-DO LIST lolwut

sacae gave me:
Altaria
Canada
Kirby
Music
Dancing
Altaria is one of my favourite Pokemon, even though they're UU-tier and pretty weak offensively...but they're so adorable! I'd love to have one in real life, to keep me warm and to keep everything clean. For a while I had a header and icon with Swablu and Altaria from the ninth movie -- it's a really beautiful screencap, of them flying off into the mountains. I had an Altaria in Emerald and named her Tari.
Canada happens to be my country of residence, ahaha. It's a really big place with a robot for a Prime Minister and some rocks and trees. We tend to self-identify as The-Americans-Who-Aren't-American and can get a big chip on our shoulder from that, but otherwise Canadians are pretty awesome people. We also have a really great history full of lots and lots of lulz like the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1836 and all the hilarious Ontario-Manitoba border wars...America had a straight up, powdered-wig wearing I-Cannot-Tell-A-Lie fancy-shmancy first President, while our first Prime Minister was an alcoholic Scot with a funny hairdo.
Plus, we have
beatonna, so we win.
Kirby...I fell in love with that series watching someone play Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards when I was ten. I think I have all of the handheld games from the Advance Gen on (except Amazing Mirror which I borrowed from my cousin) but not the console games, since that would include Air Ride and what. He's a little pink ball of adorable and I love him <3 My favourite Kirby games are Crystal Shards and Canvas Curse, though Superstar Ultra is a great collection too.
Music is not something that I'm super-passionate about where I go to concerts and buy albums and what -- I'm more into individual songs than bands. A lot of my favourite songs have come from So You Think You Can Dancing Show or FSTs because I feel the music a lot more that way...hahaha that sounded so pretentious.
My current favourite song is How Far We've Come by Matchbox 20, because that is exacty how I would react to finding out the world was ending.
Dancing is one word out of seven in So You Think You Can Dancing Show which is a really great show with dancing and sometimes thinking and a woman named Mary Murphy who likes to scream a lot. Markgate 2008 almost turned me off of the show, and there is an ongoing debate about regular stuff like judges picking favourites and dance styles not being given out randomly, but I watch it because there's good dancing and I like to watch good dancing. I myself am a terrible dancer, though I can do a mean Caramelldansen.
