hurr back from the cottage durr. It rained for 4 out of the 6 days we were there. whoot.

Meanwhile:

Games I Started Before The Summer And Finished During The Summer
Fire Emblem 11
Okami
Disgaea (well, not finished because that's impossible, but I rolled the credits, so.)
Fire Emblem 6

*many pelvic thrusts and savestates*
Personally, I was a little disappointed by FE6's final boss...but then again, I'm holding everything up to the final boss in FE7, which was the most ridiculous giant fire dragon thing with too much HP ever.

OH GUYS GUYS THIS REALLY SUCKS

COMET JUST DIED. LIKE RIGHT THIS SECOND.

p.s. comet is my mp3 player i've had. since. 2006. I guess he can be added to the list of awesome things that passed away ;A; *is overreacting*

The song of January was Slow Me Down by Emmy Rossum.
The song of February was Down To Earth by Peter Gabriel.
The song of March was Wind Waker Unplugged by Freddie25.
The song of April was How Far We've Come by Matchbox Twenty.
The song of May was Still Alive by Lisa Miskovsky.
The song of June is Time Chamber by Bruce Faulconer.

Otherwise known as 'Gohan's Innocence'. Otherwise known as (by me, at least) 'Goku's Healing' because it played during the 9001 times Goku was shown in the healing chamber thing while everyone else got owned by Frieza. My favourite track from Dragonball Z -- listen to it here on Youtube because I suck.

Right. Bed sounds good...but of course I'm going to stay up for another hour watching Canada's Next Top Model of all the low-browiest of low-brow things, on a worknight no less.

To Watch:
Dancing Sho
Canada's Modeling Show
Dragonball Kai

...I have really low-class tastes. brb watching axis powers hetalia or something.

hurrr

durrr

crrrr

Got back from Kingston yesterday afternoon, leaving for the cottage tomorrow morning. Hilarity!

Meanwhile, Kingston was super. Thursday night we watched Hook in an outdoor theater and the training montage continued to be awesome. Friday afternoon Brooke came over and we went a gallivanting and found a store selling 25 cent books and bought like fifty bazillion, including a bunch of pretentious-looking hardcover classics. At night a bunch of people came over and we had a party...and by party I mean we stayed up until 1:00 discussing theories of good and evil, and the omnipotence of God (for all you high school children out there: no, not all university students are as awesome as us) until we were so incoherent that the only thing left to do was play Rock Band for three hours. Saturday night we ended up having a delicious barbecue and then watched the Siegfried and Roy animated film which was by far the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. And I have seen some bizarre things in my time.

Sunday, we baked a cake. It was delicious and moist.

(We also went out for dinner, which was probably delicious and moist.)

ummmmmm anyways, stuff. I should go to bed, ahaha.

P.S. Don't you ever, ever open your Space Inventory.

The world will have less capslock without you.

While I was at work on Wednesday I was scanning one of those child height/weight charts, the old ones that had up to 18 rather than 16, and noticed that I'm at the 50th percentile for weight. I know that it sounds really silly, but it kind of made my day <3 I'm really prone to worrying about my weight.

Meanwhile, thanks to a strange turn of events, I am now in Kingston. Whoo! Setting up the room is harder than I thought becomes somehow I ended up with way too many posters, but I'll make it work.

Finished Disgaea this morning, ahaha. That game is an 11 on the ridiculous scale. My favourite part is when Flonne decides that the power of love and frienship will break an invincible barrier...and then it does.

So we're at a Blue Jays game (they're our baseball team) and the camera's going around, right? And it spotlights this group of men.

One of them holds up a sign.

It says 'I Love BJs'.

New header...again, ahaha. The Jigglypuff one wasn't doing it for me, the block of pink was too much against the gray background. Much happier with this one.

Spent the day downtown with Mum yesterday, which was kind of exciting considering I've never really been a tourist in our own downtown core. Needless to say, some kind of awesome and kind of ridiculous things happened:

- Saw a giant gathering outside the Old City Hall in support of the struggle for democracy in Iran...it's good to see these things in action, rather than just in the newspaper or online.

- Found the Jessica Biffi dress, proceeded to try it on and realized it looked horrendous on me, ahaha. It's tall people clothing and the material is heavier than I expected (it's polyester jersey and spandex when I expected silk jersey), so it reached my calves when it's supposed to reach the thighs and made me look even shorter...which is a feat. Still, it was cool to see it though I was disappointed to find out it wasn't manufactured in Canada. Last time I checked, this was a show about finding homegrown talent, not outsourcing designs to cheap labour overseas.

- Saw the most gorgeous purple corset dress in my size...for six hundred dollars. OH WELL

- Pushed my way into the crowd for the Much Music Video Awards. Saw the Jonas Brothers live and then realized that my personal space was being extremely violated, so we left. It was neat and one day when I totes liek said brothers I'll kick myself for not staying longer but what can you do.

- Listened to a guy talk about how to see people's auras. He talked about firing energy beams from your eye radars and bouncing them off people's electromagnetic fields because that's totes how auroras work, and that it's easier to do that these days because the Age of Aquarius (which is the sign of the power-bearer, not the water-carrier, gaiz) is coming and jaguars will fall from the sky. ENERGY LEGS!

- Most ridiculous award. When we got back to the hotel we decided to go for a swim in the outdoor pool...immediately upon arrival I noticed that the deck was packed with tall, skinny smoking/drinking women and the occasional boyfriend with music blasting liek woah and most of them dancing in not-school-appropriate ways. We asked the hotel staff what was going on and they said there was a pool party every Sunday. Of course, later on we found out that this wasn't true -- there was a strippers' convention in the hotel that weekend.

I GUESS I CAN CROSS 'GO SWIMMING WITH STRIPPERS' OFF OF MY TO-DO LIST lolwut

If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

Had an awesome sweet day yestarday -- visited ye olde High Schoole with some awesome fresh people, met a bunch of my old teachers. It was nice seeing them and all the little not-even-frosh-yet. Jaw still hurts but I ate (read: was supposed to eat) soft stuff like delicious AP Calculus lasagne and Ms.-Hart-Has-Taught-Thirty-Years cake. Mathematics!

Afterward I went by myself to my old elementary school, where I was for the gifted program, to talk to my eighth grade teacher…he’s the one who inspired me to teach (him and my sixth grade teacher, who was so awful I vowed to become a teacher so that I could replace her, ahaha). We somehow got onto the topic of people who inspired us to start teaching and he was telling me about a math teacher he had for grades twelve and thirteen – it was weird listening to him talk about that because it made me feel like I had gotten a little of them through him, and that teaching in that way is both building on the past and creating the future. It made me proud of what I’ve chosen for myself <3

I had the most ridiculous migraine headache this morning that hit just as I climbed in the car to go to work. Luckily I had taken a painkiller before I left (for my teeth, even though the swelling is down a lot and the pain is more just an annoying ache) but I was nauseous the entire ride there and then I sat down at the computer and just really couldn’t work at all. It was like there was a little person inside my head stabbing at all the soft parts in there yes this sounds like the myth of Zeus and Athena because I’m not creative…eventually I went into one of the unused rooms, closed the door, turned out the lights and lay down on the examining table for half an hour. It was my first migraine and it was a pretty interesting experience considering I was in an office with three doctors, none of whom sympathized with me, ahaha.

Ca c’est tout. Vivienne managed to pull herself from Bottom 3 to fifth from the bottom at [info]fdl_models which I'm happy about. She seems to be becoming the girl with the pretty face who doesn't understand fashion, ha. I really need to stop thinking about that so much.

Wisdom teeth are out. Drowsiness has gone away but not the swelling, and the pain is starting to come as the numbness wears out. Looks like it'll be a fun weekend, lol.

I've never been put to sleep for an operation before, so it was a pretty hilarious experience. He put the needle in (for the record, I hate needles, so he had to keep telling me to calm down even after the needle was in) and started asking questions like where I work and what I'm studying, and then I got a little dizzy so I closed my eyes to make it stop. I wasn't asleep yet so I wanted to ask him why it was taking so long, and the nurse told me that the surgery was finished and I had just woken up.

Finished Okami yesterday...the ending was bizarre, to say the least, but I'm really glad I finished it. It's an awesome game.

So meanwhile, it's the So You Think You Can Dancing Show Top 20 and one of the routines is a Wade Robson jazz routine.

(Background: Wade Robson's routines are the dancing equivalent of doing drugs.)

We were all trippin' tonight. )

MEANWHILE IN MORE HILARIOUS BUT EQUALLY CONFUSING THINGS, I watched Dragonball: Evolution yesterday night. I was literally crying from laughing so hard...that movie was messed up. My favourite part was the surprise ending when we found out that GOKU IS AN ALIEN FROM OUTER SPACE.
